A convey of vehicles carrying security personnel was attacked by a suicide bomber who rammed his car carrying kilos of explosive into them. This resulted in the sad demise of 44 CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel.

Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack and to be appalled more, their leader is roaming free in Pakistan. The whole world is in deep shock and the families of the martyrs are inconsolable.

Former cricketer and current Punjab Cabinet minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu has found himself sacked from the Kapil Sharma Show and will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh as a result of one of his comments on the Pulwama attack. Soon after his statement, the internet was flooded with rage and anger towards Sidhu for his insensitive comment.

Twitterati was not at all pleased by Sidhu’s pro Pakistan comments and made #BoycottSidhu and #BoycottKapilSharmaShow trend on Twitter. Post the Pulwama attack, Sidhu had said, “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished”.

Earlier, he stated, “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”

Netizens have shown their wrath and desire for revenge by using #BadlaLo. The whole nation is looking to avenge the death of the 44 brave soldiers and currently paying tributes to them in various ways.

Sidhu had courted controversy earlier for visiting Pakistan for Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony and his controversial hug with Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
