On May 31, 2019, S Jaishankar became the new Foreign Minister of India. He took an oath to serve the country reprising the ministry, earlier ruled by Sushma Swaraj. On the same day, S Jaishankar’s son, Dhruva Jaishankar apparently received a request on Twitter regarding visa issues. In response to that request, Dhruva Jaishankar Tweeted,
“And before anyone asks, I can absolutely not help anyone with their passport, visa, or getting-you-out-of-a-foreign-prison-problems. I have plenty of those problems myself (other than the prisons – I try to stay clear of those)”
The day when S Jaishankar took an oath as the new Foreign Minister of India, his son Dhruva Jaishankar received a request on Twitter. The request was made by a Twitter user asking for some help regarding his visa issues. Dhruv Jaishankar responded to his request by stating that there is nothing he can do about the visa or passport issues.
He made it clear that he is not going to help someone regarding their overseas problems whether it is about passport, visa or getting the person bailed out from foreign’s prison.
The approach of the new Foreign Minister’s Son is far more different than the former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, who served the cabinet from 2014 to 2019. Sushma Swaraj was known for providing instant help to the people who have tweeted her asking for her interference in foreign and external affairs issues.
