On Wednesday afternoon Selena Gomez stated that she is launching her beauty line, Rare Beauty, which is supposed to be sorely oriented towards lifestyle than just beauty parameters. She described the project as “really exciting and very special” to her.
She made it’s announcement while going live on Instagram, saying- “I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to each other and to start embracing our own uniqueness. You are not defined by a photo, a like, or a comment.”
“I am launching my own beauty brand and it is called Rare Beauty,” she told her viewers. “This is something I started working on two years ago. I found the right partners and the right team and it’s important to me because I wanted to make a brand where you feel comfortable.” Gomez mentioned the pressure people may feel to look a certain way or use certain products, calling it at times a bit coercive and not the ethos of Rare Beauty.
“The line is going to be at every Sephora store, and we will go globally next year,” Gomez added.
She took it on social media accounts to share her excitement regarding the dream that she had wanted to fulfill from long back.

The announcement of the line came after a couple of months to when Women’s Wear Daily reported that Gomez had filed trademarks for a beauty line in August 2019.
The products she had filed for include fragrances, colognes, aftershaves, cosmetics, cosmetic preparations, body care preparations, skin care preparations, hair care preparations, soaps, moisturizers, nail preparations, beauty products, and essential oils.
